58th Annual Roosevelt Golf Tournament

On September 8th, 2018, Roosevelt High School will hold its 58th Annual Charitable Golf Tournament at Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Washington. Started in 1960, the Roosevelt High School Annual Golf Fundraiser is the oldest charitable golf tournament in Oregon. The fundraiser is open to the community, and all proceeds are donated to support extracurricular clubs, athletics programs, and the arts at Roosevelt High School. The fundraiser is organized by the Roosevelt High School Booster Club – a non-profit volunteer organization who have worked for decades to provide financial assistance for Roosevelt High School programs. Roosevelt High School is one of the most ethnically diverse high schools in Oregon, and most students come from economically challenged backgrounds. The school is also undergoing a current trend of low graduation and high dropout rates, compelling school administrators and community leaders such as the Roosevelt High School Booster Club to bolster in-house programs to increase student engagement and learning. Fundraiser organizers aim to supplement and expand extracurricular activities at Roosevelt High School to aid with student retention and to provide students with fun incentives for keeping their grades up. Some of the raffle prizes include a “Record Your Own Podcast” session, courtesy of KBOO Community Radio, a dinner cruise for two on the Portland Spirit, free admission to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and a $150 gift voucher for Willamette Valley Vineyards. This is an exclusive opportunity to experience the 18 hole championship course at the private Club Green Meadows in Vancouver Washington, just a twenty minute drive from downtown portland.
