Overview Leaders are called on to perform a number of functions and pulled in a number of different directions. This session will help participants understand the importance of each of the five major leadership roles (technician, manager, trailblazer, architect and coach) and how to maintain an appropriate balance between each of them. Key topics for this session include: Examine the three core elements of team effectiveness Learn the five roles of leadership Discover the appropriate balance among the five roles Understand how to lead ''from the balcony'' Learn how to use a set of diagnostic questions to lead ''from the balcony'' Structure and Format Our ''High Performance Leadership'' learning series consists of eight modules (each three to four hours in length) that are scheduled three weeks apart. The modules are entirely standalone so are effective individually or in combination with the other modules. The sessions are upbeat, interactive and informative. Participants will have an opportunity to learn new skills and meet other business leaders from the Portland/Vancouver area representing a variety of functions and industries. We utilize discovery and facilitation more than lecture and instruction, creating an environment of real learning. The modules include numerous individual and group exercises that make the training come alive and ensure that participants translate the principles into a personal plan of action. In order to ensure an optimum learning environment, we limit our class sizes to no more than 20 participants.
