This presentation is designed for volunteer non-profit board members, executive directors and finance persons who want to learn about ways to protect agency resources from fraudulent activities. The program will include discussions about several actual fraud occurrences in Clark County, how they happened and how they could have been prevented. 1. Who is responsible to prevent fraud?? 2. Who commits fraud? 3. Three elements that are present when frauds occur, if you can eliminate one element, the likelihood of fraud is greatly diminished. 4. Checklist of ways to prevent fraud – Practical, free and low-cost strategies and resources that will help protect organizations and reduce the risk of fraud. 5. Partnerships with others – a team approach to protecting resources. Ways to involve your insurance agent, your banker and your CPA. 6.
