MARDI GRAS CONCERT & PARTY BENEFIT HOUGH FOUNDATION Vancouver, WA --- Hough Foundation's Fourth Annual Mardi Gras Concert and Party at Shorty's Nursery 10006 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, Wa will be held on March 20, 2010. Doors open at 6:00 pm with music provided by local musical group, North By Northwest followed by Five Guys Named Moe. Special musical guests will be the Hough School Bateristas, a Brazilian-style drum corp. Authentic New Orleans appetizers will be provided by Always Perfect Catering which was recently voted Best Caterer for 2010. ''Shorty's Nursery will be transformed into a scene reminiscent of the New Orleans Garden District with intimate garden seating, a Voodoo Lounge and Jazz Lounge for guests to visit with one another and have a great time.'' said Michele Larsen, co-chair of this event. The evening will also feature a silent auction of over 100 items, mystery wine wall with 200 special selections and a raffle for a trip for two to Waikiki Beach, Hawaii donated by Riverview Community Bank. Until March 10, 2010, general admission tickets are $35 which includes appetizers and concert. After March 10th, tickets will be $40 for general admission. Special reserved seating is still available for $50 and includes complimentary beverage, appetizers and concert. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Hough Foundation's Family Services Center at Hough School. The Hough Center includes a Family Services Coordinator that provides early intervention for students and families in crisis, a Volunteer Center which coordinates over three hundred registered volunteers, a music program with ninety students singing in the choir or participating in the drum line, a lunch buddy program, healthy snacks, school supplies, clothing and other social service assistance.
