Magenta Theater announces its upcoming production, The Curious Savage a warm and entertaining comedy by John Patrick, opening May 31st. Mrs. Savage, having been left a large fortune by her late husband, decides to spend it helping others realize their hopes and dreams. Her grown stepchildren have other ideas for her wealth and commit her to a sanatorium in the hopes of bringing her to her senses. In the sanatorium she meets various social misfits, men and women who cannot adjust themselves to life, the very same people who need the help Mrs. Savage can provide. The selfish stepchildren are driven to distraction in their efforts to browbeat Mrs. Savage, but she perseveres and leads them on a merry chase. Written by John Patrick this is a delightful comedy sprinkled with easy laughs and a not-so-hidden message. The audience feels that neglected virtues such as kindness and affection are not entirely lost in a world that seems motivated at times only by greed and dishonesty. Performances May 31, June 1, 7, 8 at 7pm June 2, 9 at 3pm
