NAACP Juneteenth Celebration

Description

An afternoon of events for the entire family focusing on fun and entertainment, jobs, promotion of racial justice and peace and ending and erasing systematic racism in our community and the world. All-afternoon fun and entertainment include a bouncy house, face painting and crafts and a free hotdog or hamburger for the first 75 kids; Best Pie and NAACP t-shirt design contests; music; and dance by Portland's Groovin' Highsteppers Featured activities include: • 1pm: YWCA Clark County presentation of the Val Joshua Racial Justice Award and the Youth Social Justice Youth Award honoring two Vancouver citizens for leadership in working toward the elimination of racism and promotion of peace, justice freedom and dignity for all. • 2-4 pm: Job Fair hosted by NAACP and WorkSource spotlighting available local livable wage jobs • 4-5pm: Panel discussion on ending and erasing systemic racism led by several Vancouver community leaders.
