Oregon Mandolin Orchestra concert

The Oregon Mandolin Orchestra will serve up a lively mix of movie themes, show tunes and classical pieces when it returns to Vancouver on April 28 for the Spring 2018 Concert. The “Movies, Musicals and More” concert, the orchestra’s first in Vancouver since 2015, will mark the first full program conducted by Christian McKee, the orchestra’s new music director. The concert also will be the orchestra’s last in the Northwest before performing the following month in Germany at the world’s premier string-music festival. “We’re excited to have another chance to play in Southwest Washington,” said Vancouver resident Michael Tognetti, the orchestra’s board president. “We love the support the Clark County audience has shown us.” The Spring 2018 Concert program will feature themes from Hollywood and Broadway – warmly familiar, yet still exciting. The orchestra also will perform a rousing rendition of Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony.”
