Workshop Title: Emerging Trend: How Employee Productivity is Impacted by Childhood Toxic Stress

Instructor: Cyndi Meyer, RD from Clark County Public Health




Class Description: Science is helping us to understand how the trauma and stress we may have experienced in childhood continues to affect us as adults – in our physical and mental health, our relationships, and our productivity. Learn how growing up with adversity can either shape us or challenge us. Gain insight into working with others who may have experienced traumatic childhoods, and learn some secrets of self-care and self-regulation.

About Cyndie: Cyndie Meyer is the manager of chronic disease and injury prevention at Clark County Public Health. She is a frequent presenter on the topic of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and resilience and facilitates the county-wide ACEs Action Alliance. Cyndie is a registered dietitian and served as director of nutritional care at PeaceHealth Southwest (then Southwest Washington Medical Center), St. Helens Hospital, and Humana Hospital Huntington Beach. Cyndie was a lead contractor for the Steps to a Healthier Clark County initiative with Clark County Community Choices, and served as manager of marketing and public relations at Southwest Washington Medical Center and provided similar support to Community Choices.  Earlier in her career, she worked in marketing and sales management for Baxter, Inc., Warner Lambert, and Caremark Homecare. She owned her own business for more than seven years and provided both nutrition services and  communications support to homecare, long-term and acute care clients. Cyndie holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food service from Washington State University Pullman and earned a second degree in humanities/communications at WSU Vancouver, where she was honored as a Distinguished Alumna in 2015. Cyndie was a member of the Leadership Clark County Class of 2016.
