Through the Eyes of a Child fundraising breakfast and confernce begins on Friday morning with a must-attend breakfast with speaker, author and family therapist Robin Karr-Morse. Robin is the author of Ghosts from the Nursery: Tracing the Roots of Violence and soon-to-be-released new book, Monster in the Closet. This will be Robin's first speaking engagement for her new book. Robin will talk about the connection between fear experienced chronically in early childhood to issues facing adults such as physical illness, emotional and behavioral illness and addiction. The two-day conference focuses on three tracks -- cultural competency in working with early learners and families; the importance of outdoor play for children; and a two-part workshop that will focus on childhood trauma as well as strategies and coping skills for dealing with early life trauma.
