Join us for one of our "Small Business Month" Workshops presented by Landerholm

Topic: Business and Employment Law Basics.

Small businesses face an increasingly tangled web of business and employment laws, and it?s often difficult to know where to start.  This seminar should help you to untangle that web.

Erin Lambley will discuss business laws affecting small businesses, including licensing considerations associated with new businesses, why a business may want or need a legal entity, such as an LLC or corporation, and how to form a legal entity.  Erin will also discuss ongoing maintenance of a business entity, multiple owner businesses, and traps for the unwary.

Jim Sikora will discuss employment laws affecting small businesses as they grow their workforce and strategies for navigating this tangled web and reducing risk associated with employment matters.  Topics will include the basics of important areas of employment law, including wage and hour; best practices for employee hiring, discipline, and termination; employment policies; discrimination and harassment; and other best practices for small businesses in proactively addressing employment matters.
