The Human Services Council's Volunteer Connections Programs are hosting a Speed Connections Event on Wednesday April 30, 2014 from 10 – 11:15 a.m. at the Clark County Operations Division Conference Center (4700 NE 78th Street Vancouver, Washington). Enjoy the opportunity to meet local nonprofits in small round-table settings where you can learn about their mission, and what volunteer opportunities they have available. If you're looking for a way to give back to the community but don't know where to start, are looking to meet new friends, or even gain employment skills, you don't want to miss this fun (and casual) event. Nonprofits participating include: CDM, Clark County Food Bank, Evergreen School District, Open House Ministries, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors, Vancouver School District and Catholic Community Services Volunteer Chore Program. The Human Services Council's Volunteer Connections Program is comprised of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Volunteer Center, AmeriCorps VISTA and Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) programs. Their mission is to connect the wisdom, experience, and talents of volunteers with opportunities to enrich the quality of life for themselves and their communities.
