Clark Public Utilities' StreamTeam is currently accepting applications for the Stream Stewards program. This program provides free, professional level workshops for volunteers who are concerned citizens interested in local flora and fauna. The goal of this eight-week course is to teach dedicated volunteers about geology, hydrology, riparian and wetland habitat, birds of the Pacific Northwest, salmon, water quality and the importance of native plant restoration. The Stewards receive in-depth presentations, hands on experience, and a chance to teach their learned skills to others. Upon completion of this course, stewards will understand what makes a healthy habitat, how societies affect habitat, and have increased awareness of the critical components of a healthy environment. For an application for our fall session, please visit www.StreamTeam.net or contact the StreamTeam Coordinator, Lisa Beranek at (360) 992-8585.
